Skipping Blank Lines in Mail Merge

Issue:
For users of trailing paragraph spacing (12pt) in Word documents, pressing the key will automatically add space in between paragraphs. Inserting a new line will not add the trailing space and is the recommended practice for creating new lines within a paragraph.

However, there is a known issue using the New Line keystoke when running a Mail Merge.

If the intended format is:
«FullName»
«BusinessAdrLine1»
«BusinessAdrLine2»
«BusinessAdrLine3»
«BusinessAdrCity», «BusinessAdrState» «BusinessAdrPostalCode»

After inserting fields (as above) and having inserted a new line, Mail Merge will leave a blank line in the address.

Resolution
As Word does not recognize the new line command (shift+enter) as something that should be suppressed when the line is empty, it is necessary to break the rule of using the new line key combination in an address and use hard returns. Legal Extensions users can use the "plain single" style for addresses in this type of merge document. This style is defined to be left aligned with no space after.
