New MasterCal Release,Reminder Features Added

A new release of MasterCal, Infoware's Group Calendar Synchronization tool, was released today.

This latest release of MasterCal (Server v1.0.0.19) includes improved installation support and includes a new feature - a Reminder Flag toggle. Calendar administrators now have an option to turn off the default reminder for all MasterCal Appointments that are pushed to users' Calendars.

RIM Court Date Set

A U.S. district has set a February 24 court hearing to consider a possible injunction that could shut down Research In Motion Ltd.'s popular BlackBerry in the United States.

According to media reports, District Judge James Spencer in Richmond, Virginia, listed the date on a court docket.

Now that the U.S. Supreme Court has decided not to hear the case, Judge Spencer will decide if Blackberry sales and service should be shut down in the U.S. because it infringed on patents held by U.S. patent holding company NTP Inc. He will also decide how much RIM should pay NTP Inc. after infringing on its patents.

U.S.Court Blow for RIM

Blackberry-maker Research In Motion (RIM) has suffered a court setback in a long-running patent row that could lead to it shutting down its US operations.

The US Supreme Court has refused to hear the Canadian-based group's appeal against a patent infringement ruling.

This ruling found that RIM infringed on patents held by NTP, a small technology firm from Virginia.
RIM now faces a possible injunction which could block the use of the handheld wireless device in the US.
