More Vista Blues for Microsoft?

The European Union (EU) has written to Microsoft to state its anti-competition concerns about the US giant's new operating system. EU Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes is worried that the forthcoming Windows Vista system will not offer customers a real software choice.

Yet the letter does not mean the start of a formal inquiry, and Ms Kroes is responding to a query from Microsoft.

Microsoft had asked EU regulators to set out any Vista concerns it may have.

Microsoft delays Office 2007

While the Windows Vista launch delay made big headlines this week, the Office 2007 launch delay did not. On March 23rd in the midst of the hubbub over Microsoft's reorganization of its Platforms & Systems division, Microsoft officials acknowledged that Office 2007 is now going to launch in 2007, not 2006.

Microsoft Delays Vista

Up to 60% of the code in the new consumer version of Microsoft new Vista operating system is set to be rewritten as the Company "scrambles" to fix internal problems a Microsoft insider has confirmed to SHN.

In an effort to meet a dealine of the 2007 CES show in Las Vegas Microsoft has pulled programmers from the highly succesful Xbox team to help resolve many problems associated with entertainment and media centre functionality inside the OS. The team are also working closely with engineers from the Intel Viiv team. and it is now expected that the next version of Viiv could be delayed to line up with the launch of the consumer version of Vista at the 2007 CES Show in Las Vegas.

New Ontario Small Claims Forms were released today for Inform Court Form Suite subscribers.

City of Toronto becomes Hotspot.

Utility Toronto Hydro has announced plans to turn the downtown core of Toronto into a giant wireless Internet hotspot.

The utility is planning to join other world cities, most famously Philadelphia, San Francisco and London, England, to bring low-cost, broadband wireless access to their citizens and businesses.

Mayor David Miller will join Toronto Hydro executives on Tuesday to officially announce the initiative, which will be the largest of its kind ever undertaken in Canada and could undermine commercial product offerings from Rogers Wireless, Telus Mobility and Bell Mobility.

Infoware has contacted all clients who require the updates. This version, v6.97, includes the following changes that are effective immediately:

Added Forms:
  1. Requisition form 4E for Hamilton.
  2. Requisition form 4E for Toronto.
  3. Certification form to set pre-trial and trial dates.

Updated Forms:
  1. Certificate For Appeal: formatting of numbered paragraphs have been styled with IFDNum L1.
  2. Affidavit of Service forms, by mail, by fax, by courier, personal, by leaving with adult person, by mail as alternative to personal service, by mail on party acting in person or a non-party.
  3. When Appeals court is chosen the email address now displays in the address block.
  4. Fill in the backer with case profile values when created as a standalone document.
